Hi Stampers:

Welcome to Tool Tuesday.  Today I have a little punch technique for you to create a really fast, but very cool looking sentiment tags for your cards.

Of course I’m using Stampin Up Punches for this – and I just love how so many of our Stampin Up Stamp Sets are built to fit inside our punched images it makes creating so fast and fun.

Valentine Defined punch label
So here is the card I created to show you this tag.  This stamp set is from the new Occasions Mini Catalog and it’s called VALENTINE DEFINED.

I started by using the Oval Large Punch and punching an oval from my card stock.

NOTE – Make sure you are far enough in from the edge of the card stock to allow for the next punch.

Now I’m using the Decorative Label Punch (Holiday Mini Catalog) and I’m looking at it from the back so that I can visually center my “oval” image.

Next, I took this image and placed it inside the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and ran it through Mr. Big!

To get this cool textured design on my tag.

Next, I took the “Love” stamp from the same stamp set and I colored the stamp with my markers colors are Regal Rose, Old Olive and Marina Mist.

Then I stamped this image on a scrap of Whisper White

NOTE – again, stay in from the edge enough that the punch will fit around your word.

I used the 1-3/4 x 7/8 Oval Punch to punch out the “love” word, and I used the Decorative Label Punch again and punched out a piece of Marina Mist for my background.

NOTE – I added slices of Dimensionals to the back of the Pink piece as I want this to be raised from the background.

So now we are ready to assemble.  I have the rest of my card all put together and taped securly.

I first attach my Marina Mist tag to the card – flat, no dimensionals.

Next, I attach the Pink piece that had the Dimensionals on the back, see how it is now raised.

Then I attached my “word” to the center of this, also with Dimensionals.

See how you get a multi dimensional look – and wasn’t that easy?

Ok,, because I know your going to ask, and I’m not going to be at the computer today cause I have a BIG deadline I have to meet.

Here are the rest of the card instructions.

CARD RECIPE

Card Base – Rose Red 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″

Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4, placed inside the FRAMED TULIPS EMBOSSING FOLDER (Occasions Mini)

and run through Mr. Big too.

Use a Sponge Dauber and add some Old Olive Ink around the embossed part – attach to card base.

Rose Red Mat is 1-3/4″ x 3-1/8″

Green Designer Paper is 1-5/8″ x 3″

I added a piece of Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon tied to the left side and when I was completely done,

NOTE – I used my Markers to ink the “heart grass” stamp to get the 2 colors

I pulled some pink embroidery cotten through two of the green buttons and attached them with glue dots.

and here is a little different variation.  I cut out the sentiment, taped it to a scrap of green, and cut it out again.  I attached it to the tag with dimensionals again for the 3 -d look, but a completely different look.

That’s it for me today – hope you like this idea and that you will have fun creating some tags yourself.
